Unpublishing a Page
Why Unpublish
An unpublished page is only visible to Site Owners and Contributors. Regular site visitors will not be able to view or search for the page or its content until it is published.
You might choose this option if:
The page is a work in progress and you're not ready for it to go live on your site.
Your content is no longer relevant but might be relevant again in the future.
If you have seasonal content, such as graduate admissions, a commencement ceremony, summer research program, or fellowship application, you may wish to use Page Revisions to manage your content instead of unpublishing your page. View our guide on how to use Revisions for more information.
How to Unpublish
To unpublish a page, go into the Edit interface. Toggle the Publish slider and click Save.

Unpublished content is marked with an orange banner at the top of the page and orange highlight in the menu. This is only visible to site managers, contributors and others editing the site. Regular site viewers will not see the unpublished content.

We recommend unpublishing pages instead of deleting them so you can access the content at a later date. Deleting a page will remove it completely from the site.
