Doc views and reactions
Sometimes you'll write a doc, share it, but have no idea if people read it, or if they found it useful. Hard work deserves acknowledgement, especially when we're not all in the same office to give high-fives.
Now, you can see how many teammates viewed your docs.
And when you want to show appreciation, or give quick feedback on a doc, you can add an emoji reaction.
The in-app templates got a makeover
If you're like us, you might have lots of different team templates. Now you can sort through them more easily with a simple keyword:
We've also come out with a bunch of fresh, new, suggested templates. Take your pick:
October 2020 - Meet the new Slite
A new look
We’re introducing our new look today. If you’re curious, you can read the story on our blog .
You’ll notice a new logo that’s based on our early days, when Slite was short for “satellite.” We’ve fully embraced this theme, along with other gems of newness (shout out to Rob en Robin for the playful illustrations) spread across our app and website .
Playful dots, and our new colors.
You'll notice new colors and fonts in the app.
October 2020
A new way to organize your teamwork. Meet Smart tables.
With each new project, your team accumulates many docs, and it's hard to keep a clear view on everything. Now you can see the bigger picture by laying our docs out in one place with their status, owners, and more in a Smart table.
You can also connect docs to Smart tables to see and edit their related information stored in the table right from the docs:
Skim lengthier docs with the Table of Contents
Wrote a long doc? Add a Table of Contents at its top so your teammates can leaf through its multiple sections. Type /table of content.
September 2020
A clearer way to Catch up
Start your day with peace of mind that you're all caught up on what's important for you.
Catch up is one place to see where your team needs you, and what they've recently worked on.
Search in a specific channel
Restrict your results to the channel of your choice.
Look for information from the channel home.
Work in any Google Drive file
Edit any Google Drive file directly from Slite's browser app. Simply type "/Google Drive", pick or copy and paste the link of any spreadsheet, slides or doc, and start editing the file.
Better comments
Replace internal emails, and Zoom meetings by giving each other feedback and discussing projects directly in Slite. Swiftly browse through and join any open thread.
Give your images more context
After some of you shared your (very creative) workarounds, we're thrilled to announce that image captions are finally here.

A clearer search
Whether you're searching for a title or specific sentence, the new search experience brings results together to help you quickly find what you're looking for.
For more common terms, use the new filters to search in doc titles only. Can't find the doc? It might be in the trash.
Hit CMD+K
and see your recent documents without lifting a finger.
Share private docs with your teammates
Need feedback on your draft? You can now invite others to this doc to work on it privately together. Just hit Share
on the top right when you're in your Private docs.
You can always jump back to the private docs your teammates share with you via the new Shared with me
section:
July 2020
Share docs with anyone
You can now work on specific documents with clients, contractors, or anyone. Share them to any email via the new Share
button on the top right, and keep a clear view on people's permissions for each doc.
Easier internal doc sharing
Need your team member to review your work? Notify them to your docs. Not in your channel? Just add them from there.
Smarter doc linking
You can now see exactly where a doc lives in Slite when linking to it. This gives you the necessary context when you need to choose the right doc among multiple with the same title.

Meet Draft by Slite, our Chrome extension
Turn your browser into an editor for all your quick notes and spur of the moment ideas. When you're done, save them to your private docs in your Slite workspace. Get Draft by Slite for Chrome here →
May 2020
Invite guests to channels
This is our first step towards improving how you can collaborate with clients, contractors or anyone outside your workspace. You can now invite them to specific channels as guests to work together in Slite.
Stay in sync with recent updates
Follow your team's changes across your workspace.
Set where new members start
To help onboard new teammates to your workspace, custom the first doc anyone sees when they sign up. Give them access to important information right away, or send them to a doc that explains how your team uses Slite.
March 2020 - A new way to organize docs
It's now easier to structure and navigate your docs.
We've turned collections into documents that can contain multiple docs. This will let your team organize content around topics more neatly. Learn more here .
The new sidebar gives you an overview of all your channels and docs, so you can easily switch between them. Favorite your most relevant docs and channels for quick access.
Keep up to date and follow your team's changes with the Recently Updated list in each channel.
February 2020
Last month, we've been busy refining some of the Slite fundamentals your team uses daily to centralize their work. From better tables to PDF embeds, here's the round-up:
Tables got a face-lift
We've improved tables making them much easier to resize and add rows and columns.
Embed PDFs in your notes
You can now view your PDFs without having to download them and leave Slite.
Better PDF exports
Speaking of PDFs, we updated the exports to actually look like your Slite notes now. Check it out:
New code snippets
We improved code snippets to support more languages (R and Kotlin), and you can now search through them.
Protect editing of certain notes
Available under the paid plan , you can now lock some notes to prevent accidental typing 🔏
Switch Slite teams on mobile
You can now jump from one Slite team to another on your mobile app without having to sign in and out every time.
Insert images on mobile
Finally, you can insert images in your notes from your mobile app.
January 2020 - Happy new year!
We've recently released a bunch of highly requested features and improvements, here are the highlights:
New features
Dark mode
It's finally here! Give your eyes a much-deserved break in just one click. I don't know who's more excited: you or our back-end developer Alexandre, who's been wanting it for two years.
Create Hints
Sometimes there's specific information that your team really shouldn't miss. Some will call them callouts, others macros, we call them Hints. They let you give any tip, warning, or error message the special attention it deserves in your notes.
Simply type "/hint" to create one, and pick one of the four styles available.
You can see them in action and get inspired for your own documentation with this template .
Other enhancements
Wider tables
From now on, you can work more easily in larger tables by expanding them in your notes. You can also expand images, embeds, and code blocks when needed.
Search templates
You can now search for a template when you create a note instead of browsing the long list.
A faster Slite
The app launches 4 times faster, pinging a team member feels smoother and your members list in the admin area loads much faster.
