With so many of you using Slite to showcase public content like FAQs and handbooks, we've put a lot of focus on improving the Public Docs experience this time around. This includes: sharing sub-docs, a new sidebar navigation and Search! These updates are a huge upgrade not only for the creators out there, but also for the people visiting your content. Read on for the details!
While you're here, we also want to take this opportunity to shout about a few key roles we have open on the team! We're on the hunt for both a Head of Marketing and a Head of Customer Success. Head to those links for the info.
As always, we'd love to hear what you think of the latest updates! Drop us a line on Twitter and tell us how you're using Public Docs and what could make them even more awesome.
Looking for a Head of Marketing
We're a small – but mighty! – marketing team here at Slite. In the long run, we see the way to keep growing Slite and make it stand out is through building our brand and community.
We have strong expertise in Content, Design and Product Marketingand we're now looking for a Head of Marketing to lead the charge. If this sounds like you, or someone in your network, get in touch. Check it out
Sharing a tree of Docs
Previously, if you wanted to share a "tree" of Docs publicly (aka a Doc and its sub-docs), the only way was to either share a full Channel, or enable sharing for each one, doc by doc. A real headache.
We've added a new option in the sharing options for all Docs to "include sub-docs". It's now a whole lot easier to share a nested set of Docs.
Use a toggle in the Share menu to include or exclude sub-docs
Now that it's easier to share your nested Docs, we also put in some work to ensure your visitors have a great experience when they land on your content.
New Sidebar navigation gives visitors a simple, visual overview of the content and a way to drill down and find what they need. You can see a live example by visiting this Company Handbook Template in your browser.

Search Public Docs
By popular demand, we've added a much-needed search bar to Public Docs! To access it, visitors can either click into the Search field in the sidebar, or by using the shortcut Command+K to launch the pop-up search window. A full content search is at their fingertips.
Search is available for any visitor to your Public Docs, whether or not they're logged into a Slite account.
