What are the ongoing service subscription fees?

We have two models when it comes to on-going fees:

Bottom Line:
Pay Per Day (Pay As You Go) option, users will be charged for service fees directly every time a charging session is activated. This model is advisable when multiple devices are installed but there's uncertainty regarding their frequency of use, thereby making the Prepaid option less economical.

The Pay Per Day scheme ensures mutual profitability — we only profit when you do.

However, if you're confident that your devices will see regular use, consider our Prepaid options. We offer an annual plan at $144 or an even more cost-effective 5-year plan at $500.

Please note, you have the flexibility to switch from Pay Per Day to Prepaid at any point if your devices are being used consistently.
Our clients get to keep 100% of the revenues generated from the platform. We do not take commissions on transactions.

Prepaid Flat Rate - Best for CapX focused installations

Plugzio platform charges a flat rate for the services it provides, allowing you to keep 100% of the revenues generated.
Most properties pay for the services up front as a Capital Expenditure (CapEx) cost so there would be no Operational Expenditures (OpEx) for the devices on an on-going basis.
Month to Month
$15 per month
1 year pre-paid
$12 per month ($144 per year)
5 years pre-paid
$8.3 per month ($500 for 5 years)
The subscription starts after the installation is completed and the devices are registered on the Plugzio dashboard. If you are installing Plugzio devices in bulk, you can register them (start the subscription) after a user wants to use the device, not at the time of installation. This way you don't pay any services on devices that are not being used.

If the devices are not being used (e.g. resident moves out), you can pause the services at anytime and restart later and a pay a reactivation fee of $20. Most properties ask the residents to pay the reactivation fee as a flat rate to give them access to power (i.e. EV Charging).

Plugzio does not charge any commissions on revenues extracted from the platform. The flat rate is the only on-going fee a property has to pay for the services.

If you opt to use a cellular device instead of WiFi, a recurring yearly fee of $60 per device will be applied without the option to pause or discontinue the cellular service. To avoid incurring fixed cellular fees per device, we advise using WiFi devices for installations involving more than four devices.

It is important to note that the cellular fee is charged in addition to the service fee outlined above. For instance, if you opt for the monthly payment plan, the ongoing cost of using a cellular device will be $20 per month ($5 cellular fee + $15 Plugzio services).

To circumvent cellular fees per device, you may consider purchasing a WiFi extender or a cellular modem. For further information, please refer to:

Pay-As-You-Go - Best for installations at scale

In our Pay-As-You-Go business model, properties are NOT subject to service fees for devices that are not in active use.

If you are proactively installing units over demand at a single location, our Pay As You Go model is specifically designed to optimize cost efficiency. This approach ensures that you are only charged for the services rendered on devices that are actually in use, preventing unnecessary expenditures on underutilized devices.

Pay-As-You-Go pricing tiers:

Pay Per Day (Only available to limited partners)
$1 per active day per device for lower than 50 unit installations.
$0.67 per active day per device for over 50 unit installations.
0% commissions on transactions.

Charges will be incurred each day a device is activated.

The approximate monthly cost for continuous activation throughout the month is ~$20 to $30 (calculated as $0.67 or $1 per day for a 30-day period).

You can pass this cost as an activation fee to the end user.
Pay Per Month
$15 per active month per device
If a device is activated at least once in a calendar month, $15 will be deducted from the User or Manager's wallet to cover service fees.
Pay Per Activation
$0.67 to $1.00 per charging session depending on the quantity of the units installed and the partnership deal with the property owner.
0% commissions on transactions.
Each time a user initiates a charging session, they will incur a charge ranging from $0.67 to $1.00, in addition to the property's usage cost.

For instance, consider a property with a usage rate of $0.50 per hour. If a user activates a charging session for 10 hours overnight, the total cost would be calculated as follows: ($0.50 per hour x 10 hours) + $1.00 Plugzio activation fee, totaling $6.00.

Cellular devices have a flat $60 per year fee that pays for cellular services (AT&T or others) that are outside of our control. You will get billed $60 per year for cellular fees per device regardless of what type of on-going service subscription you choose. We can help your property bring WiFi to the installation space to avoid this cost. Learn more:  📶How do Plugzio devices access the internet? What are the different connectivity options?

Is There a Revenue-Sharing Model Available?

Pay As You Go  model provides better returns for our clients than a Revenue Sharing model because our clients get to keep 100% of the revenues instead of sharing it with us.

After thorough analysis of various revenue-sharing business plans, we determined that it was not in the best interest of our clients to offer this model for the following reasons:

Hidden Minimum Monthly Payments: Often, revenue-sharing plans include a minimum monthly payment stipulation hidden in the contract's fine print. This payment is intended to cover the EV charging company's operational costs, but it ultimately defeats the purpose of the model, which is to reduce or eliminate operational expenses for the property owner.

Limited Control for Property Owners: Revenue-sharing models tend to restrict property management's influence over usage rates. Consequently, EV charging companies may impose higher usage fees to cover their expenses, leading to dissatisfaction among residents. Furthermore, these contracts frequently include clauses that prohibit the installation of additional charging equipment, which could negatively impact the revenue generated by the original chargers. This scenario could result in residents abandoning the charging stations or even the property itself.

In conclusion, our Pay As You Go model has been designed with the best interests of property owners and residents in mind, prioritizing flexibility and control. We encourage you to explore the benefits of our Pay As You Go model and how it can enhance the appeal and value of your property.
