 🪐Changelog - Slite

We've spent the last few years talking to the heavy hitters in the world of remote and async work. More than 150 teams in fact. And every one of them struggled with the same issue.

Communication was broken.

Important decisions were getting lost in endless Slack threads and slipping through the cracks. Over the years, many of these teams cobbled together home-baked solutions to bring more focus to their async chats. But even then, the pain was apparent. Their team's conversations lived in a separate app from where work was happening, making it difficult to connect the dots and get the full context. One place for work, another for conversations.

It's time to bridge that gap.

Today we're launching  Discussions , a new home for focused conversations and great decision-making right where work is happening. In Slite.

Communication in context

With Discussions, important conversations are naturally organised where work is already happening, visible to all. They live side-by-side with your documentation, not hidden away in another tool.

Having a home for these important conversations means team members can easily stay up-to-speed, on their own time and async. It sheds light on why and how a decision was made, for those who weren't in the room (or the same timezone).

Everyone has a say

Driving clear decisions calls for accountability. Every Discussion has one owner and as many participants as you need. It's all about bringing the right heads together.

Need feedback on a design idea? A brainstorm on your next launch? Add the relevant people and give them a rich place to weigh in, react to ideas and help you reach a decision.

A Discussion will stay open until participants make a decision. Participants get notified when there's action in a Discussion, and reminders if the deadline is approaching. Nothing slips through the cracks.

Move forward faster

A good Discussion will drive work forward. Looking for background on the latest roadmap decisions or design direction? Everyone on your team can see how a decision was reached and what decision was made, by who. All documented. All where work is already happening.

We'd love to hear what you think about Discussions!  Leave a review on Product Hunt  with your first impressions and any ideas you have on how to take it even further.
