Enable Self-Maintaining Documentation

The Slite Agent can keep your documentation accurate by detecting when docs drift from reality and proposing fixes. It's what makes Slite a self-maintaining knowledge base.

How the Slite Agent works

  • Spots docs that have drifted — the Slite Agent watches your  connected tools  and flags when the doc no longer matches reality, so you hear about a stale doc before your customer or newest hire does.
  • Proposes the fix — instead of just flagging the problem, it drafts the update and sends each doc owner a list of what needs changing in Agent Triage, where Users can review, edit, and apply the changes.
  • Set up a maintenance routine — users choose which documents the Slite Agent should monitor. You can run a one-off verification at any time or schedule recurring checks.

Depending on the connected source, the Agent will explicitly respect access permissions, so people only see information they're allowed to see. See  Agent Data Sources  to see which ones follow this pattern.

How teams typically get started

Most teams follow this simple setup:
Connect your data sources  so the agent can monitor and search across your tools
Ask a few real questions — open Ask and type a question in plain language to see the agent pull cited answers from across your connected tools
Trigger a fact-check on a doc — open any document, click Agent Maintenance , and let the agent check it against your connected sources , then review the suggested fixes it surfaces
Set up a maintenance routine — once you're familiar with the Agent, create a routine to automatically monitor your most important documentation and surface suggested updates whenever information changes.
