HTML files attached to a doc are rendered right in the editor, so readers can see the page without downloading it.
Adding an HTML file
Add an .html file the same way as any other file:
- Drag and drop the file into your doc
- Upload it via the editor toolbar
- Type
/fileto bring up the file upload prompt
HTML files follow your workspace plan's file size limit, and count toward your workspace's storage.
Viewing an HTML file
Once uploaded, the file shows a live preview inside the doc. From the file header you can:
- Expand — open the page in a full-width view
- Download — save a copy of the .html file
The page runs in a sandboxed frame, so some browser features (such as local storage) aren't available to it.
Where the preview isn't available
The in-editor preview is turned off in docs shared publicly on the web and in the Slite mobile app.
