Welcome to Slite — and why we chose it

Slite is a self-maintaining knowledge base that enables teams to create, find and manage their company knowledge at scale.

Introduction to Slite

Slite brings together two key parts of your team's knowledge workflow:
  • the Editor, where you create and maintain documentation.
  • the Slite Agent, which helps you find and keep that knowledge up to date.

The Slite Editor
The Editor is where your team creates, organizes, and collaborates on your knowledge. It's your team's source of truth for documentation.

The Slite Agent
It's the AI layer that helps you find information across your workspace and connected tools, while keeping your documentation accurate over time.
Ask questions in plain language and get answers grounded in information from your connected tools, including Slack, Linear, GitHub, and 20+ other integrations.
Slite Agent can also detect when documentation needs to be updated, draft suggested updates, and route them to the document owner for review.

Why have we selected Slite at company name?

For the admin: you can add 1-3 goals here to let people know why you have selected Slite and what you are hoping to achieve with the implementation and rollout → also see:  How to get your team on board .
Slite is here to provide you with a single source of truth so everyone can be more aligned.
We want to scale our knowledge as we grow and Slite keeps our institutional knowledge organised and accessible.
Slite removes the ambiguity of not knowing if documentation is up to date and/or can be trusted.
We want to bring all our scattered knowledge into one searchable place so we stop losing information across all our other tools.
We want to have our documentation accurate and up to date, so we avoid wasting time following outdated guides or getting misled by stale information.

How Slite fits into your daily workflow?

For the admin: you can add 1-3 concrete, scenario-based examples of how they should use Slite for. This can help them understand when and how to reach for it in their day-to-day.

Capturing everyday knowledge

From meeting notes and SOPs to project plans and onboarding guides, use Slite to collect and share knowledge as you work. Multiple people can edit the same doc at once, leave inline comments, and tag teammates with @mentions.

When you update a doc

After making changes, mark the doc as Verified and set a review cycle. The Agent will remind the owner when it's time to re-check — and will flag it automatically if connected tools suggest it's gone stale before then..

After a sprint or project closes

Run Agent Maintenance on your roadmap or project doc. The Agent will cross-reference your connected tools (e.g. Linear, GitHub) and flag anything that's drifted — closed tickets that contradict the doc, merged PRs that changed a described behaviour, etc. Review the suggested fixes and approve what's right.

When a Slack thread resolves something important

Instead of letting the answer get buried, use the Agent to turn the thread into a structured doc. Open the Agent, point it at the thread, and it will draft a clean write-up for you to review and publish.

Where to find things

For the admin: this is a great place to drop an annotated screenshot of your workspace so new users can see exactly where things are.
The sidebar is your main navigation, with everything you need just a click away.

Best Practices

🔏 Use your Private Channel for drafts before sharing with the team
🔗 Manage  sharing & access  from the Share button in any doc. Permissions are set at the channel level but can be adjusted per doc
Favorite  docs and pin channels you use most for quick access from the sidebar
📋 Before creating a doc from scratch, check if there's a  template  for it — templates save time and keep docs consistent
💬 Use  inline comments & @mentions  to collaborate directly in docs and notify teammates without leaving the page
Verify docs  you own so teammates know the information is current and trustworthy
🤖 Run  Agent Maintenance  on important docs to detect drift and get suggested fixes routed to the right person for approval
Use  AI Assistants  to turn your team's most common tasks into structured, repeatable workflows anyone can run consistently
